I have a Magellan Maestro model 3225
I am wintering in Palm Springs and I'm having a problem with my
Magellan 3225 in that I can't enter Highway 111 in the street
selection.
I've even tried to enter "California 111" as the Magellan "speaks" it.
It grey's after I enter the "i" in California and wants me to choose
streets named Calico.
When I try to enter the word "Highway" I can only go as far as the "g"
and wants me to select a street named Highland. I've even tried "HWY"
and no luck.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

I'm too lazy to find my GPS, but I have two ideas to try:
Just enter 111.
Try calling it a Route (or Hwy, etc...)

That is because 111 has three different names.....
N. Palm Canyon - E. Vista Chino - N. Gene Autry Trail.
..... as it wanders through Palm Springs.

In another situation similar to your's I solved it in this way.
My unit is a 4250 so I am not sure if youur unit has the same features.
Find another street that intersects the one you are looking for.
Enter it into the GPS. Now call up the map of the location that you entered
an expand the view so that you can see the street that you are looking for.
That should let you see the name of the street yo wan and see how it is
named.
Using this technique, I discovered that the road I was trying to find was
actually misspelled in the map. I sent a note to Magellan and got a same day
response from them that I was right and they were reporting the error to
Navteq whose maps they use.
BTW, Garmin uses the same mapping company.
