Explorist 500 problem

I have been using an Explorist 500 for geocaching with great results.
Suddenly, it will not update my position as I am moving when a POI file is
in use. The position will update as long as I am only using a basemap and
moving around. Also I have noticed that I do not get the line when I set a
GoTo. Have I accidentally turned off something or what should I do to
correct this problem. Thanks.

I'm using an Explorist XL which is suppose to be very similar to the 500 but
bigger. To answer your last question first, you need to go to your menu,
select Map Setup, Display, and select Pos-Dest Line. Not really sure what
your first problem is but would guess that you may find the answer in the
same area on your setup. Looks to me like you selected something by mistake
and didn't realize it.

Many thanks for your suggestion. The Pos-Dest line and Depart-Dest Line had
been unchecked. I checked them and the unit seems to be working as
originally. Too bad Magellan does not list what these items do in the
owners manual to help trouble shooting. Once again thank you for the quick
help.

I know what you mean. I have had my XL for over a year now and have a few
issues I can not resolve. I have emailed them with no response. Lets face
it Magellan doesn't provide the best customer support. But I really love
the XL.
