Well, I did the map update following all the directions to the letter.
Now the damned thing will not power up!
Help appreciated......
Some users in the GPSPassion forum have received replacement GPS devices.

Based on my experience with Magellan I would recommend trashing the unit and
purchasing from another Manufacturer......
