Has anyone been using the 3140 or 4040 models? I'm curious about your
satisfaction and the pricing you've found. Are there any real pros or cons
you've noticed?

Thanks!

I ordered a 4040 yesterday from QVC (special value of the day) for under
$400.
I will let you know what I think after I received it later this week.

Replying to myself and Dave here...

I ordered a 3140 from Costco.com today... $299. They also have the Garmin
Nuvi 250 for $299. I hope the Magellan proves itself to be in the same
league.

Pros of the 4040:
Great audio volume
I like the quik spell feature that shades out letters that aren't
used.
AAA POI's are nice
Very quick to obtain satellites
Exclusion of roads in route is great as well as multiple routes in
trip planner.

Cons of the 4040
Can use exit POI's while enroute only if on a highway. Must exit
route to find std POI or AAA POI.
Font is somewhat small on the Maps. Zooming in does not go in as far
as I like.
Cannot exclude u-turns.
No Pedestrian mode.
