I tried to install 1.72 on and now upon start up I see
Marine,Outdoor,Vehicle Nav System and icons. When I click on any of the
first three icons I get Unable to launch application screen. I think
something went wrong with the download...
Can I return this to the original CD version and start over?

I added the firmware update and things seem fine. Not tried to click on the
new icons as they are useless unless you have the maps that accompany them.
Atleast that is what I guess. The crossover update is not available yet and
that should give you the ability to add new maps.

I had a very similar problem but not with this upgrade, it was the one
before. I have had this since October and suffered through freezes and many
other problems. Eventually I sent the unit in and it was upgraded with the
"new" software. When the last release came out I downloaded and attempted to
upgrade. I had the Icons you mentioned but NOT the music or photo. After a
number of calls I found out that the "new" upgrade I had received was never
officially released so when the upgrade program ran all seemed to go well but
I could not run anything. I also looked to get the original software back
but wound up sending it in and having it done by them. BTW I still think the
"new" software ran better than the last 2 official releases

I just installed firmware 1.72.18.02 and I do not have any of those
"new" icons. Maybe you installed an earlier update and Magellan is
now hiding them ?

I returned it to the Magellan Canadian service center for repair...the
icons made me think that it had installed the Crossover software for the
2500T or an upgrade to the Crossover option for the 2200t since it
showed the Marine and Outdoor icons....but I was positive I had followed
the download instructions to a "t", the only thing was that it never
restarted after the download, I left it for an hour!
