How can I upload/stream near-real-time GPS data from on-site to
webserver/mapping-server? Any luck with a GPS unit with Wifi
connectivity to do my job?
Cheers, Bill
Have a look at this:

Thanks Clarence. I looked at 'Record GPS data to a log file', but
didn't find anything with WPA. Blue-tooth alone will not have enough
range for my tracking. Are there case-studies of projects implementing
GpsGate?
I also looked at 'Replay log file in Google Earth'. Is live-play
possible?
Cheers, Bill

My experience with GPSGate was an eTrex connected to a laptop.
Via the internet, the data from the eTrex was available to my desktop at
home, where i could use the incoming data as if the eTrex were attached to
the Desktop.
The bluetooth is a limited feature with a special purpose.
There is no WPA in GPSGate. There is an network connectivity, traveling
via whatever connection to the network that you have on the two machines.
I think you want

found from the main page, then "Share a GPS over a network".
