What is a cheap receiver that can store more than one route, like the
Etrex does ?
Would be nice to be able to load a few routes, before going on a
vacation. That way, I do not need to bring my PC as well...
I have the Garmin Etrex now....

The eTrex is an entire series of diminutive units, all with the same
shape and size, but not necessarily the same capabilities. I had an
eTrex Vista, which was quite handy but limited. I recently replaced it
with a GPSMap 60Cx, which has an expandable memory up to 1 GB. You can
store just about the entire east and west time zones and part of the
central time zone, City Navigator maps in one unit, plus an ungodly
number of routes. But strictly speaking you don't really need to store
routes because the unit will auto-route you to wherever you're going,
and will recalculate and re-route if you take a wrong turn. There's a
$100 rebate on the GPSMap 76Cx (or Csx?), that's essentially the same
device but with a slightly different case. The antenna is much improved
oven what the eTrex series had, as well.

Errm...

How about the etrex! You obviously have the original basic yellow model and
it sounds like the updated version is exactly what you need. Still the same
basic yellow non-mapping unit - but with multiple routes, SBAS (WAAS)
capability, enhanced navigation screen and other toys taken from the more
advanced models. Have a look at the spec and manual on the Garmin website.
