I'm 90% positive this isn't possible (because I've tried hard to look
for it): I'd like to know *which* direction I'm going to turn on the
next leg of my journey in a Etrex Vista (not C unfortunately) route.
None of the data-field options seem to let you know this. The only
choice is to use the map and try and look at the route line, right?
It'd sure be nice to know which lane I need to be in more than the 15
seconds before the turn at which point the navigation arrow will show
you.

If you are driving along the freeway and trying to navigate off eTrex
screen, I don't want to be anywhere near you on the road! I can barely
see the thing when I'm standing still.

The etrex Vista is totally hopeless - all the map info does is add clutter
that makes the route or track completely impossible to see, unless you spend
more time peering at the display than watching the road! However the basic
yellow etrex is much better if you enter a tracklog and follow it on the
mapping display, oriented track ahead. The display is simple, usually
obvious and not much more distracting than reading your speedometer.

Well, I do tend to find it useful and better than nothing. That being
said, I sure wish I had a Vista C instead. I got my vista about 3
months before the C was announced... I wish they had an upgrade-path ;-)

Have you ever tried turning the display detail down to something low
on the etrex? I bet that would help your clutter issue.
I do wish it did a better job displaying the line on the screen. I'd
settle for much wider line if it was clear that was the route (say a
huge dashed line or something that stood out better).
