I`m trying to find something to convert easting and northing (with
height) coords to british ordnance survey - has anyone got any links
they can recommend please ?
I came across a standalone java conversion util, but it doesn`t appear
to offer a conversion to the type I need, which is along the lines of
SJ588983
There`s an alternative method of entry I can use that requires six
digits as an XY coordinate, and for the example above, it has a "3"
prefixing the coords, so the above would become 358800-398300
I spotted a Perl conversion util that looked like it might do what I
require, but I don`t have Perl installed on the target machine to
enable me to try it :-} (there`s no web interface available for it)
The "original" location data (from a scale plan) was in the format..
Easting : 519.163
Northing: 287.013
Height : 19.063
I can`t remember the exact figures, these are random, but in roughly
the same "magnitude" as the original data (it refers to somewhere in
the Chester area of the UK)
Thanks

Handy, but it doesn`t appear to do easting / northing :-(
Thanks for the reply :-}
