I want to get some waterproof paper for my ink jet printer so I can print
walking maps and not have all the colours run if the weather takes a turn
for the worse. I'm not too worried about the paper being very heavy weight.
I'd like to be able to fold it easily and a rarely use a map for more than a
single trip. Image quality isn't an issue provided the map is legible.

A quick trawl of UK internet sites has brought up a wide price range from
just under four pounds for 20 sheets to nearly 15 pounds for 25 sheets.
Does anyone have any first hand experience of waterproof papers. Do you get
any extra benefit from the more expensive papers? Anyone care to suggest a
good value for money waterproof paper, preferably available for order in the
UK.

Why not use ordinary inkjet paper in an A4 map case?

Well, we use normal paper and then laminate it with plastics. It is
practically unbreakable and waterproof as well. Or go and by a cheap
color laser (e.g. HPs Color Laserjet 2500 or such). The laser print
makes paper waterprof.

As someone else has suggested, use ordinary paper and laminate it. I've
never seen waterproof paper for inkjets - but even if the paper is
waterproof, the ink isn't - so what stops it running?

It's _not_ waterproof paper that's wanted - it's waterproof ink !!!!!!
