Anyone have any experience taking digital photos and
then embedding the GPS info in them?
This would be used for genealogy pictures... such as
take picture of Moms old high school in another town,
etc

OK thanks but I don't have a GPS unit right now
I may be able to borrow one from my buddy tho
But I may not have the cable to download GPS info
Could I just take a picture of the GPS display itself
AFTER taking a picture of the subject?
And later just manually enter the info into the EXIF
filed?

Here's another great option...PhotoFusion. Read the description on this
page

"PhotoFusion example from TopoFusion" link.

This'll sure work. Easy & straightforward. Consider using RoboGeo,
though - it'll eliminate your keyboard errors. Those can/will
completely kill your coordinates.
I've used a GPS tied to a camera. Spent a bunch of dough and screwed
around with it too many times. Giant PITA.
If I were to do it again, I'd use Robogeo or GPS Photo Link. I would
purely depend on 'post-processing' over encoding in the field.
