Hello,

I got quite uncommon problem... The devices seem to be working fine-
the GPS module is seen by the phone. The problem is that the position
shown be the device is not correct. The difference between position
seen on the screen and actual is about 500m and always in the same
direction. The problem is permanent so I don't think that any kind of
disturbances or bad visibility could be blamed...
It is not a problem with map - I checked the coordinates in Google
Maps and the position on the map was the same as seen in the phone...
It looks like the coordinates are wrong... but how could that happen
in GPS ? Is it a problem with this receiver or should I call satellite
administrators ? :)

Thanks,
D

It's a problem of your device :)

Maybe that your receiver is not set to use WGS84... Have you played
with the configurations?
You could try to reset it to restore factory defaults on the receiver.

Yes, call the satellite administrators and tell them they need to move
the satellites a little. :>)

Or check your settings, it sounds like your mapping is using one datum
setting and your GPS receiver another.

Well, I called them but they didn't want to fix anything... They told
me to go and see my doctor, but I don't know how could it help...

;]

The problem is solved. This is an english newsgroup so I don't think
that somebody will use this, but anyway:
I had polish language activated in my phone. Specific thing in polish
is that a 'comma' is used instead of 'dot' - twelve and a half is not
12.5 but 12,5. This made program confused when coordinates were sent
from GPS module to phone. Switching the language to english solved
this problem right away.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Thanks for following up and telling us what the problem was. We've had
people ask here before about similar problems here. I think your
explanation for the cause of the problem is a new one. At least for me
anyway.
