Need help gps to usb

Hi - I have just bought a Navngo igo8 gps and i can't get it to talk to the
computer via the usb port.The computer knows it's connected - comes up in
hardware profile with yellow exclamation mark and says error code 10.Running
XP sp3.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did the receiver come with USB drivers, or can you download them from
the maker/vendor's Web site?

Did you install them?

No there was no software.The usb cable came with it.When i try to connect
the gps goes into download mode
but the computer does nothing.I notice that one driver download site
mentions this error code 10 but i would have to pay
and i'm not sure this will fix the problem.There is a manufacturers download
site but that is all to do with maps - no mention of usb ports.

Sometimes USB cables provided with equipment have hidden agendas: in
particular, a resistor of a certain value connected between terminals
to signal the device that it is or isn't connected as a drive, and so
on.

Try pocketnavigation.de/forum - they have a section for this software,
and even the main language is german, enough people are knowledgable
of that device and speak english. Give it a try.
