How to Create a user.poi file thatworks in an ASUS R300. The example
below is based on a U.S./Canada unit.
1. The file as to be in UTF16 format and HTML2any is a freeware
program that will create this file from a UTF8 text file.
2. The field Separator is hex 7C or the | key on the keyboard, often
on the key with the \ in lower case.
3. The fields have specific sizes that cannot be exceeded.
4. The first two characters in the file have to be FF FE hex.
5. The name of the file MUST be user.poi
UTF16 is the same as UTF8 with a hex 00 in front of each character. so
the first 1 is 00 31 instead of just 31.
Fields are:
1. # of item sequentially from 1
2. Name of the POI folder - keep it short
3. Name of POI - 20 character max
4. Type of POI - use Parking and change it later
5. Decimal Latitude with 6 decimal places
6. Decimal Longiude with 6 decimal places
7. Country and state poi file in system
8. Country and state for the point of interest
9. 5 digit zip code or 3 character postal code if known
10. city, county, state
11. Street name
12. Number of building
13. Description 35 character max
14. Phone number - 20 digits max
Even if left blank, the field separator is needed.
The only fields that MUST have values are 1 to 8
For the U.S. 7 and 8 are always _uxx where xx is the 2 letter state
abbreviation so below for Utah you see _uut
For Canada 7 is always _c** and 8 is _cxx where xx is the 2 letter
province or territory abbreviation, so for Ontario you see _con

The file is put into FlashDisk\Navi\Save directory in a 'hacked' ASUS
R300 using the Mio hack, and then it works perfectly.
