Like these units. Are they all the same as long as they are SIRF Star III or
are there better ones?

So no one in a GPS group has any knowledge of these or similar units? Pretty
sad really. Guess I will just have to buy one and try it.

You may see if this is good for you. It is USB but I believe the gps
is not as sensitive as Sirf III. But it comes with the latest Garmin
map 2009 and if you are not driving in NYC which is very demanding,
you be ok

http://www.gpscity.ca/item-garmin-gps-18-usb-deluxe/oem18usbdlx.htm

The unit comes with 2008 map and you have to load it up to your
netbook I believe. You are entitled to one free update from Garmin.
When ordering make sure you order the free updated map the same time.
Pain but it is cheap, effective and Garmin

Thanks Danie,

I don't need the maps I just want to be able to use it as an input for
OziExplorer.

Cheers.

Sirf3 itself is obsolete (good, very good, but obsolete today IMHO)
I don't know the other one, but the price seems high for what it
offers.

Why not get a BT+USB like this one:
http://www.esseshop.it/transystem-iblue-747a-plus-antenna-gps-data-logger-66-canali-p-2937.html
It's new GPS technology and has also many features like datalogging
(stand-alone, of course) , Server based extended ephemeris for 1 week,
BT, ecc... and is not much more expensive after all
