My mom is not computer savy, and is looking to get her first portable Gps.
It will have to be something that has usa, canada preloaded, ease to use is
most important. Price is a big factor as well. Are Mios good entry Gps
units, I no nothing about these. Thank you

If ease of use is the biggest factor, get her a Garmin nuvi. These two
are the simplest with Canada and the US pre-loaded. The first has a
3.5" display; the second is wide-screen (4.3"):

The new nuvi 260 will call out street names ("turn right on Main
Street in 200 feet" instead of "turn right in 200 feet").

Look at the Tom Tom one. It's a basic navigation GPS that is easy to use
and cheap. The current issus of Consumer reports selected TT One as a best
buy.
