Hi All,
I am a happy (well most of the time) TomTom Go Classic user for about 6
months with the latest firmware and maps (yes I know).
Anyway there is one function that would really make my GPS navigation a
lot better and that is a best route feature.
The minimum I would like is to start at A and then for the GPS to give me
the Best Route around B, C, D, E etc. and then back to A.
Ann addition to the above but not essential would be to start from A, go
to B, then plan best route around C, D, E, then to F, then best route
around G, H, I and finally back to A.
Anyway I don't at this stage want to change my system so is there a PC
based solution (preferably FREE or at least cheap) that I can use to get
the route before feeding this as an itinerary in to the TT?
Cheers in advance.

Rgds, Mick.
In an earlier contribution to this discussion,
By 'best route' you presumably mean that you need to visit several places,
and you want the navigation system to establish the optimum order in which
to do it?
I have a feeling that the latest version of Autoroute may do this - but it
isn't free!

These are statements of the classic "Travelling Salesman" problem and
>the Best Route around B, C, D, E etc. and then back to A.
>Ann addition to the above but not essential would be to start from A, go
>to B, then plan best route around C, D, E, then to F, then best route

is a very hard (in a strict maths sense) problem to solve precisely.
Fortunately, it is relatively simple to come up with an approximately
optimum solution. The Garmin 26xx series already include this option
(not sure it works for the round trip version though).
