Are there any vehicle mounted gps "black boxes" that stream NMEA 0183 data
over a com port?
It seems like everything I find is a CDMA or GPRS combo box.
This option must have an external antenna.
Thanks!

There are small devices that stream NMEA to a serial plug (nine pin, mostly).
These are mostly referred to as GPS Mouse or Smart Antenna.
Many of them have a magnet and can therefore very easily be vehicle mounted,
some work just fine inserted into the dash, etc. Particularly Sirfstar iii
based mice.
Thanks for the fast responses.
I am familiar with the gps mice, however, we have a need for an optional
external antenna (like the rikaline one Darren posted).
Has anyone seen a device similar to the rikaline...
I was hoping to find two devices to evaluate and all my google attempts have
come up dry.
Seems like everyone is pushing the combo boxes now.
I did manage to find this device
