Hello,

can you explain me the difference between an orthophoto and an
orthorectified image?

Thank you,
Norbert

I think there is none, after rectifying an image to the reference plain you
can call the result either orthorectified or orthophoto. Important is
the 'ortho', orthophoto is just a bit shorter...

You may think in terms of usage and audience . If it is in use by
a GIS user , he may call it orthophoto.
on the other hand if its an RS professional working with imageries ,
or a particular audience knowing better
on imagery analysis ,he opts to use orthorectified.
