So WMS works pretty well for our needs.
One snag - many of the remote systems
we wish to share layers with are using
MapObjects based applications.
ArcObjects applications load WMS layers.
MapObjects applications load only ArcIMS layers.
Does anyone know if a WMS addition to MapObjects is in the works?

What technology is on the server side? Some allow the emulation of
ArcIMS servers (Like wrappers for the UMN MapServer).
The protocol is open enough that you could write your own if you wanted
as well.
