Hi,

Posted this in alt.satelite.gps but maybe someone in here can help me.

I have bought the PRO version of GPSTrackmaker and I see that it has the
ability to import a GeoTiff.

My understanding is that a GeoTiff is a Vanilla-flavoured Tiff with
georeferencing data included in the file.

Does anyone know of a free or inexpensive tool that I can use to edit this
georeferencing data in a "normal" tiff so that I can import it directly
into GPSTrackmaker?

Kind Regards
Peter

Peter,

Check GeoTiff Examiner, a free tool from Mentor Software

Posting the same message to multiple newsgroups, if appropriate,
shopuld be done via cross-posting.

A "normal" TIFF file doesn't have geo-referencing information.
When you add that information, you get a GeoTIFF file.
I use OziExplorer, not GTM, but it's likely going to be
easier to just use the TIFF file, and do the geo-referencing
within GTM.

Seems to be down at the momemt, but there is lots of info
about GeoTIFF here, including utilities:
