Route Point Events not showing up

Here are my steps:

1. Created route from existing StreetMap lines.
2. Measure values will be obtained by Geometric Length. (How accurate
is this?)
3. Coordinate priority: Chose both upper-left and lower right. (How do
I find out the best choice between these four?)
4. I scrubbed the route identifier in the reference field so they
would match the Excel events table.

After having setup "Display Route Events" based on the route
indentifier and the milepost in the event table, no point events show
up.

Under the layer's properties, I have it "Show where measures do not:
increase". Almost everything has a red dot or a red line on it. I
assume this means that the route is not very useful.

Anything I'm missing?
