AIRCLIP - Airports and Climate Preservation / Report available
The aim of the research project AIRCLIP is information gathering,
classification and evaluation of best practices dealing with climate
protection at airports in the areas of airfield operations, transport
and mobility, energy efficiency, renewable energy and administrative
activities. AIRCLIP fosters a spatial perspective in examining
airports including their adjacent environment and specific regions.
The results of the AIRCLIP project comprise recommendations and
strategies for the implementation of relevant technologies and
infrastructural investments at Austrian airports.
AIRCLIP was funded in the framwork of TAKE OFF, the Austrian
Aeronautics Research and Technology Programme from Federal Ministry of
Transport, Innovation and Technology and carried out CEIT ALANOVA -
Central European Institute of Technology, Institute for Urbanism,
Transport, Environment and Information Society durchgef=FChrt.
If interested we can provide you with the final report and an access
to the best-practices-database for free - please contact us via
airclip@ceit.at
PLAN4ALL - EU-funded project on HARMONISATION of PLANNING DATA
according to INSPIRE-directive
Plan4All, co-funded by European Union in the framwork of the
eContentplus-programme, will start in May.The harmonisation of spatial
planning data according to the INSPIRE Directive based on the existing
best practices in EU regions and municipalities and the results of
current research projects is the main focus of the eContentplus
project Plan4all. The expected results are European forums for SDI in
spatial planning, a database of best practices and analysis of best
practices in terms of organisation, sharing, harmonisation and SDI
recommendations for spatial planning. The whole sector should profit
from the availability of understandable and more transparent planning
information across Europe. Although there are basically the same ideas
and concepts behind urban and spatial planning across Europe, the
legal situation is completely fragmented. Current planning laws are
disjointed and even experts from one country might have difficulties
to understand the planning regulations of a neighbouring country. For
investors and decision makers it is almost impossible to compare
planning regulations across Europe. Plan4all will significantly
contribute to improve this situation. http://www.plan4all.eu/
45. ISOCARP-Kongress "LOW CARBON CITIES", 18 -22 October 2009, Porto /
Portugal:
Call for papers is still open until April 30,
see www.isocarp.org
From Airport City to Airport Region? 1st International Colloquium on
Airports and Spatial Development, 9.-10. Juli 2009, Universit=E4t
Karlsruhe
http://www.stba.uni-karlsruhe.de/index.php?lan=3Dde&page=3D30800
Airports have undergone a development from pure infrastructural nodes
to multifunctional service locations. This instance has put airports
on the agenda of different research disciplines. The colloquium
therefore wants to bring together experts dealing with the theme
airports and spatial development, but from different focuses and
views. Disciplines especially addressed in the sessions are: Urban and
Regional Studies, Political Science, Geography, Sociology, Regional
and National Economics, Mechanical and Civil Engineering and also
Computer Sciences.
Also municipalities, airport management and regional planning
institutions are invited to give insight into their current practical
approaches regarding the changing function of airports.
We are grateful that the event is made possible by funding from the
German Research Foundation (DFG).
