When I export a layout from Arcmap I usually chek "Clip output to graphic
extent". Can you change the Arcmap settings so that this tic mark is set by
default.

Poul,

I'm not at work, so I can't check whether this setting is in the registry
or not. Regardless, take a look at AdvancedArcMapSettings.exe which is in
the Utilities folder of your ArcGIS installation directory. There are many
settings which you can change here. You have to administrator or super user
rights to your computer.

Or, you might try changing the setting, then creating a new template.
Again, I don't know if it will 'stick'.

Thanks Melita. I had a look at "AdvancedArcMapSettings.exe ". There is a lot
of things you can play with - but nothing about Clip output to graphic
extent" it seems............ But thanks anyway.
