The Department of Clinical Sciences, Section for Veterinary
Epidemiology, invites applicants for a one-year full-time postdoctoral
position.

The aim of the project is to evaluate if temporal and spatial patterns
in reproductive performance of dairy cows can be used for
environmental monitoring and assessment. This involves computing
spatial statistics and modelling of data from several existing
secondary databases with information on e.g. dairy cow fertility,
biogeochemical composition of soil, meteorological data. The
successful candidate is expected to work closely with colleagues in a
multidisciplinary group and to develop a research program within the
area. The position is for an initial duration of one year, starting
December 2008 or as soon as possible thereafter, with possibility for
prolongation. The salary is negotiated individually.

Eligibility and qualifications: A typical qualifying background is a
master=92s degree in Animal or Veterinary Science, Life Science,
Meteorology, Geology, Engineering, or a closely related field.
Applicants must also have a PhD in a relevant area, with education or
training in GIS/geocomputation/geoinformatics. Own research experience
with GIS is highly desirable. The applicant should have good
communication skills and proven skills in both oral and written
scientific English. Familiarity with the dairy industry is an asset.

Documents that should be included in the application: CV, publication
list, PhD diploma, copies of no more than five publications. A short
description (2-4 pages) of previous research, current research
interests and other activities of relevance for the position.
Telephone numbers and e-mail addresses of at least two referees should
be included. All application documents should be written in English.
