I have a simple task. I need to determine the maximum elevation within
each of a series of lat-lon blocks; such as 30N 30E, 30N 31E, etc.
I have found any number of data sources, such as GTOPO30 and SRTM, but
I have no commercial tools (ArcView, etc.) with which to read any of
this data.
If anyone can point me towards a means of extracting the necessary data
I would be eternally grateful.
Thanks in advance,
david dawson

David,
Manifold (from www.manifold.net) can do that and is VERY affordable compared
to the Arc products.
Good luck.
