Hi there!
At the moment I am trying to find tools for checking the correctness of
MapInfo Tab files. For example bow-ties, acute angels or directions of
digitation.
Any hints?

Mapinfo has a couple of built-in fucntions to check and clean
regions. You can access these under the 'Objects' menu and details
are available in the on-line help.
