Hi all.
Currently i'm working on a project: i need to write a GDF File but i
have 3 problems:
1) the only available information on GDF is on Ertico Web Site,
http://www.ertico.com/en/links/links/gdf_-_geographic_data_files.htm
but the pdf's are old and there isn't any example on how to write a GDF
File
2) following the Ertico web page on GDF, i find that ISO create a
standard on GDF, so i watch for this paper. But it is not free to
download (a specification of a standard.. i don'nt understand why...)
3) i don't need ANY program to import/export with GDF, i need tecnical
information about this format. I mean with tecnical not a "beautiful
story" on GDF, but examples, counter-examples, etc..
Thanks to all :D

Hi
That's makes two of us doing it.. I am also working on a project to create
GDF file from GIS data sources.. All search in the Internet lead to
Eritico where the specs are dating back to 1995.
I have come to knwo that TeleAtlas and Navtech has thier own variants
too.. Well, teh CERN variant, that I beleive is of GDF specs should work
as we are following a specification.
Look forward to collaborate and share any knowledge that is mutually
beneficial on this initiative.
Thank you
Anwar

Hi! :D
Finally someone that are working on this topic! :)
So, in the last month i worked on gdf, doing a lot of examples and if
you want i can send to you: many of them have italian comments, but i
think that are useful because are simple examples (a point, and edge, a
line, etc..).
My problems in this days are on segmentated attribute of level-1 entity
of gdf, because italian governement in 2001 decided to use gdf and
translate into italian the standard.. doing a new variant? I don't
know!
In Italy our company, Sinergis (Trento) are first that tries to work
with Gdf.
