Hello,

I have imported a coverage into ArcGIS 9.0 and have not been able to
clip it. It seems the clip tool for coverages is only available with
ArcInfo. Is there a work around for this? Could I convert it to
something that would allow me to clip it? Or another idea. Thanks
for the help,

Ben,
Brooklyn NY

You need the Coverage Tools - open the red toolbox (provided Workstation
is also installed on the same machine).

I do not seem to have any coverage tools. I have received advice to
try to export it to a shapefile (whihc is clippable). i will try and
get back.

It might be silly, but who knows...
Make sure that the coverage tools are simply not being displayed...
make a right click on the toolbox, then "add toolbox", browse to the
default toolboxes directory and check, here, whether you have the
coverage tools or not!

If you can export your data to a shapefile, you can use some free and
open-source tools to get the clipping done.

Try Mapwindow GIS ( http://www.mapwindow.com/ ) or Quantum GIS with
GRASS ( http://qgis.org/ )
