Ok folks..
back to the basics

A GIS Spatial model
What is considered accuracy..
Data accuracy in is data accuracy out...

relating one data in to another:
Ie a local plan aligned to a boundary map or a boundary map aligned to =
an arial photograph

What is the purpose of providing data from a GIS model?
is it for engineering
general reference
data storage
information coordination
all of the above
none of the above
something else?

The reason is that my organisation has a GIS model of state data
the model contains information from a number of sources including street =
plan, arial photographs, rasterised plans, boundary plans, detail =
plans(rasterised) some council plan etc,.
all overlayed into the database..

1 What level of accuray should a client expect
2 what usage should the client expect to apply the data too?
3 should the client be expected to do there own survey? IE pay twice for =
the same data?
4 The current tolerance level for aligned data is 250mm is this normal? =
(they also still include data beyond this tolerance anyway regardless if =
it is outside the allowable tolerances in the procedures
5 should duplicate lineal information found on different rasterised =
vector drawings be identically aligned[by default]

The whole question is about what is acceptable quality of data in a GIS =
model and what a client should expect...

Cheers!

:)
