You might try www.tvnav.com and call Darrel.
I like the prices on refurbs.
16 models on http://www.tvnav.com/etrexfamily.htm , some refurb.
http://www.tvnav.com/venturehc.htm Venture HC $135
I can't pick out which eTrex model is which in the new lineup.
That's something Darrell can help you with. Best Buy and Amazon don't offer
much advice.

Depending upon where you are, and what you want, the basemap might be
useful. My daughter is perfectly happy with just the basemap for major
travels. In my area, the nearest "road" is about 20 miles away on the
basemap.

Thanks. Good source. There is an ad on in Firefox that sometimes
brings up comparison prices. Amazon may be cheaper but your site does
give much better product feature listings. Too bad Garmin has so much
to choose from. I'm tending towards a mid range eTrex with built in
color maps. I hunt PA/DE and a park on border, where I can't get lost
has no boundary markers and gps would be good for this. In DE, it's
pretty hard to find any place without a road within a mile away.

I've got plenty of time til fall hunting season. Best Buy store often
gives good advice, I picked out my wife's Nuvi there a couple of years
ago but then bought from Amazon at a $50 saving. Dittos for a Canon
Powershot camera. Sort of hate to waste a clerk's time but I guess
that's business and I do buy some stuff at Best Buy.

I would suggest you compare the specs between the two before you buy. I
almost bought the Etrex until I compared them and found out the 76CSX
was only about 40 to 50 dollars higher then the Etrex and went with the 76

Nice looking unit. I see it is considered for "marine" use and has more
bells and whistles than I'll every used.

It has all of the functions of a normal GPS, the marine use is just an
added feature which I'll probably not use, but my theory on buying
things is that I would rather have a feature I don't use then to kick
myself later because I bought an item that doesn't have a feature that
all of a sudden I find I want.
