If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
on my Garmin Nuvi 255, if I press the upper left corner - sat bars -
I get the sat display page...
There are 2 icons I'm not sure of:
#1 is a "sun" - position of the sun ?
#2 is a red dot, at the top of the outer circle.

You have the sun, the moon, and the direction you are traveling.
"...On the n=FCvi Satellite Screen [Officially called: the GPS
(Information) Page] (on my 650, perhaps yours too) you will notice on
the left side where you have the satellite geo-mapping (Sky View) and
sometimes the icons for the sun and moon, there is another icon which
is a small black circle with a red dot. This icon identifies the
direction you are currently traveling -- even more accurately than the
eight-only directions that the Map Page offers..."
