I am considering upgrading to an Android phone, and
the Asus/Gramin A10 (or A50 possibly) sound like a nice
option.

However, I would like to know whether these will
work with my existing maps
1. a Europe City Navigator 2009 on SD card
2. free maps downloaded from several sources
that I install to mu Nuvi 360T via Mapsource.

Can I keep using those maps in some way?

I don't have no Android phone nor Asus/Garmin A10 nor A50 to know what
they are, what kind of map, memory slot they use etc.. But in general.

- If they use/support the Garmin map and format then the chance that they
should work. You can check with Garmin web page for compatibility (what
model supports what map).

- *If* it's the Garmin's special SD (not 3rd part SD) and the others have SD
memory slot then there is a chance that the map will work with the other
Garmin GPSes.

- *If* it's an *installed* map on SD card then the answer is NO it won't
work with other Garmin GPS *but* the unit the MAP *registered* to.

I don't use any free map to know anything about them.

Only a person who have never tried for himself answers in this way, if he is
arrogant enough. Sorry, nothing personal, however it is really difficult to
find ijnfo about compatibility with non-locked maps. The free/open street
maps (has anyone heard about them?) are just like this, but Garmin doesn't
bother to dive us the information. It bothers even less, if it is the
NextBigThing. IMHO it's the only way to take your maps and go to the shop to
find out by himself. Unless someone else has already done this and can tell.
I am saying this, because I was surprised to see the same maps work with
some devices nad do not with some others, even if they are from the same
hardware generation. BTW, AFAIK all the new 3xxx devices don't like the
non-locked maps, so so I dare to suppose the garminasus can dislike them
too.
