I just got a nuvi 650, and the touchscreen is acting flaky. If I am using
the up/down arrows in the lower right to say, page through lists of poi's,
every third or fourth arrow tap, instead of going to the next page, it will
act as though I pressed the center entry on the screen [including flashing
a highlight behind that entry] and jump to the Go! page for that poi.
[Yes, I have tried re-calibrating the touch screen several times --
although this isn't like it is selecting an adjacent button on the screen
anyway -- the middle entry is a good inch away from the lower right.]
I would be inclined to think it is a hardware problem except for one thing
-- it seems ever so slightly related to how long I am 'pressing' the
screen. A shorter press seems just a little more likely to cause an
incorrect selection than a long press. This makes me think it is a
firmware/timing issue in how the screen is being scanned.
Has anyone else noticed this on any of the nuvi series -- maybe just later
models?
I read somewhere that this is corrected in the latest firmware
upgrade.

I guess I should have also said that I updated it to the latest firmware
[3.7] and the problem is still there.
