On a trip to Sequoia park I had a leal mixed bag of troubles. In
Fresno I could not find US 99 from state 180. Finally used street
signs and map. In Vasilia I found the resteraunt by circling in kind
of a death spiral till finally found. To find Kings Canyon park from
Vasilia I asked directions at a service station. Nuvi had not heard of
Kings Canyon. All together not very helpful.

I own a nuvi 650 and had no difficulty finding 99 and 180. There are
six listings. I set my location in Fresno and used the numbers of the
routs under intersection.
I also had no difficulty with Visalia, CA -- when I spelled it
correctly -- your spelling was not correct. The nuvi can't guess.
Further the listing for Kings Canyon easily appears when asked. I set
my location for Visalia and searched under Attractions. It is located
about 32 miles from the heart of Visalia. You can also search under
Attractions: Park/Garden.
Don't give up on your 650. You may need to learn some of Tricks, Tips,

it asked o spell city. Where the Nuvi screwed up was in routing me
from 180 to US 99. Yes it found 99 0n the way there and it found 180
on my route home but it could not connect the two. Actually, this has
happened before. I was going from 101 to Half moon bay. The Nuvi got
lost at the interchange on 101 and I had to go back to street signs. I
found this GPS most useful for my wife to find garage sales in our area

My 660 gave me some fits on a trip earlier this year. Not sure if the
problem was with the GPS or the database. I sometimes think if the road
data gets too complex the unit just gives up and offers inaccurate routing.
In Austin some of the highways can get very complex and I numerous
errors in routing. Found several instances while on the freeway I
wanted to change highways, needing to go to the right. The roadway
required to take a fork to the left them immediately a second fork to
the right. The GPS never was able to tell you to make the second fork
on the right. In Bend Oregon I was trying to find a store. was at an
intersection and could see the store on far left corner. GPS said to
keep going straight and routing you down the road maybe a quarter mile,
make a U-turn and come back to the intersection and make a right turn.
I just made the left turn and disregarded what the GPS was saying.
The trip lasted a month and routing difficulties was almost a daily
affair. Sometimes you just have to disregard the GPS and go on your own.
