had a Legend Cx before this one.. since the 450 allows for a lot more geocaches
to be uploaded to it from http://www.geocaching.com as a premium user as well as
many more waypoints to be saved on it..... is there any option on the device
that allows me to choose where any downloads are saved to... in other words can
I pick and choose what memory to use.. internal or the microSD card... or is
the 'card' only good for saving additional maps and the geocaches and waypoints
must be saved to a certain folder on the unit that handles .gpx files

I checked over at Garmin Support FAQ's.. also checked the User manual .. nothing
is mentioned..

the only reason I'm asking is that my LG Env Touch cellphone has that memory
option to save it to either

For my Dakota 20, similar to the Oregon, the unit in-built memory and the
microSD appear as two distinct devices to www.geocaching.com as well as
Garmin Base Camp affording me the option of loading maps, waypoints, and
geocaches to either.

Have you connected your Oregon 450 to either yet, since adding the microSD?

yes I have.. saw the two drives... just wasn't sure if what you did with
uploading could be done... have you u/l any geocaches or waypoints onto the
'card drive'

You can upload waypoints, geocaches, trackes etc. to either the
internal memory or SD card drive.

Everything imported into the Oregon comes as .gpx files which need to
be placed in [drive letter]:GarminGPX where drive letter is the
letter of either drive. If your SD doesn't have this folder just
create it and then put the files there.

management

I think it all depends on the logistics used to send the data to the GPS
from the Geocaching website.

Recently, I uploaded a couple of local geocaches,
and they wound up in the GPS Favs..... no drive letter was used.

But I'm not sure what I did to make that happen ?
This is different than using POI Loader to upload various POI files.

So, I could have been directly from the Geocaching.com website,
vs downloading into a file and then dragging that over....
