I just had my iQue3600 repaired and when I attempted a hotsink my PC
would not "see" the iQue. I called Garmin tech support and worked with
them to correct the problem. We finally agreed that although the unit
had just been repaired (swapped for a refurb unit) it was not
functioning properly. The said I would have to return it and began the
process of setting up a RMA. In the middle of the process the tech
said he had just been told by his supervisor that they could not
replace the unit because there license with Palm had expired.
So, I had paid over $100 to had the unit repaired and now they could
not repair it because the Palm license had expired. I was told that I
could pick a new product from there current inventory to replace my
iQue but they don't have anything like the iQue.
The lesson for me is, don't buy Garmin products that have license
agreements with other manufactures, you will be left holding a brick
if it fails after the warranty period and the SHORT license agreement
expire.
Oh, and Palm won't repair it either.
I'm checking with GARMIN to make sure you got the correct info. At least
you should get your $100 back.

Hey,
I also own a iQue 3600. If the problem is purely sofware related, you can
reinstall the lot yourself. That way no Palm OS is handed over (the problem
in this case). The "not see" problem is related to USB drivers and
MapSource/MapInstall. Follow the instructions for installing Palm Desktop
and the HotSync should work.
