Hi,

I just bought an eTrex Vista HCx. I absolutely love it but it doesn't
seem completely ok. When I press the next page/quit/compass-button, or
the area just besides it, the device squeaks a lot. It's also doesn't
feel as solid at that place as the rest of the body (the material
under the rubber wobbles a bit).

Is this normal? Should I return it or learn to live with it?

I've had an eTex Vista HCx, and have never heard (or felt)
anything like you describe. Doesn't sound right to me.

I also have a Vista HCx and love it. Of course I had to send my
originally purchased unit back to Garmin for an exchange (shut itself
off intermittently) and now my second unit is rock solid.

But to your question: return it! Call Garmin and ask for an RMA or
return it to the store. The unit costs plenty and you should be
perfectly satisfied with it. The "feel" of the button(s) you describe
is just wrong!
