download map update - 1 yr avail ?

I recently purchased and downloaded a one-time update for my Nuvi 255.
Just noticed a message posting about the latest 2012 mpa update.

I was wondering if my online download link & product key
points to a specific map version ?

The email confirmation I received indicates the download link
is active for a year........
So, what do I get if I re-download after a new version comes out ????

I was gonna try the download via the link,
but after going to the Garmin website,
I changed my mind.....
It looks like the download is for the specific version 2012.10
and of course lists the "key" for my specific Nuvi 255.

So - I probably can do the download again and again
for an entire year -
but will still only get the same 2012.10 update
and only with a "key" for my specific Nuvi serial number.
