Get a cigarette lighter socket at Radio Shack or Fry's and wire it to
the battery, observing proper polarity.

Be sure there's no bare metal on the socket to bump against the frame
or whatever.

Get a cigarette lighter socket that's designed to be mounted on a
motorcycle. These guys are highly recommended:

Be careful to get a cigarette lighter socket rather than the more
popular (but useless to the Garmin FM traffic receiver) Powerlet
socket.

You can always connect a cigarette lighter socket to your motorcycle. I
have 2 motorcyles and (1) I connect directly to the battery (single socket)
and it always have power, and (2) I connect to the ignition switch (tripple
socket) which only have power when the ignition is to ON.

Just make sure the socket has CAP(s) and marine grade to deal with the
rain, rusting etc..

Either mount the socket as others suggested already, or take the other
receiver...

The unit you are talking is the GTM21, isn't it? Take the GTM12, you
can plug that in the USB connector in the motorbike cradle.
