So I want to replace my 5 year old Quest (which I love, but they no longer
offer maps for it); there are almost 50 (!) Automobile units on the Garmin
website!! Jeez. Shy of trying to figure out the differences for each one
(I can't believe there's a reason they have to have so many choices), does
anyone have any tips on how to go about figuring out which one I want?

Ideally, it would be nice if there was some way of telling the website "I
ABSOLUTELY WANT this feature", "I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT this feature", and
so on to whittle down the choices.

Any thoughts or pointers shy of going through each one??

Whoops - I do see a product finder on the website that does allow selection
of details. Never mind! I might have some other questions. I drilled down
to only having a few options....

so, you've never actually been to the web site.

Elmo, you are a bright guy and have been here a while, so I figure I'm
the ignorant one.

ASSUME one is interested in creating routes via MapQuest (or anything
else) and downloading to the unit. I have "aftermarket" topo and
Garmin (albeit old) routable street maps for my Quest I. As long as
it is routable, OSM would do.

ASSUME one wants to save tracks and review them (with elevation) on a
computer.

ASSUME one wants turn-by-turn routing on roads.

Where did you find anything that helped at all? What series?
