I've noticed something about Custom POI's
and wondering if other Garmin GPS units are different ?

On my Garmin Nuvi 255, and 260,
getting to the POI's loaded with Garmin POI Loader
the sequence is: Where to -> Extras -> Custom POIs

But there is only one selection here anyway,
so why even have the "Custom POI" screen ?

Does any other GPS have something else listed
under the "Extras" screen entry ?

On my Nuvi 760, I have no custom POI's loaded, so when I hit Where To
-> Extras I just get a screen saying No Extras Loaded, and it directs
me to visit www.garmin.com/extras.

ahhh - interesting -
tnx for the link, had seen those "products" in my browsing when I first got
my Nuvi,
but had not bothered investigating deeper at the time....

Downloads ------

Accessory Maps - the normal map products
Travel Guides - FODOR, AAA - just enhanced/custom POI entries
Language Guide - 6xx,7xx,8xx - maybe needs mp3 player
MAD maps - specific area POI for local weekend type trips
Games - 8xx - why only this series ?
Garage - normal download for vehicles
Trip Planner - did not investigate

Services -------

Traffic - using the FM, MSN, XM add-ons
ecoRoute - already in firmware updates
Safety Cam subscription -
GeoCaching - will try it out as we do it
POI Loader - already using
my Garmin - website dashboard

On my Nüvi 670 the travel guides as well as Custom POIs are under "Where
to -> Extras"

The travel guides can also be found under "Travel Kit -> Travel Guide"
