A "jug handle turn".

Wouldn't classify a "jug handle turn" as a right turn. The jug handle sort
of guides you around into the U turn.

I think we have different images of this. To me, a "jug handle" is a right-hand
exit which then curves to the left until you are at right angles to the main
road and facing a crossing (often with a traffic light), so that continuing
across the main road results in a effective left turn. The only U turn involved
(and only a partial one at that) is the left hand curve bring you to the actual
road crossing.
I would try some ASCII art, but it would only work with monospace fonts, and I
suspect most people don't use them reading news groups.

No need for the art work--you described the jug handle turn exactly the way
it is. Another way, perhaps, is to picture the jug handle turn as having
basically the same contour as a question mark.
