Has anyone used the National Geographic topo maps with the Vista. I did not
think you could but I just read the packaging and they said you could. In
fact they had a picture of the Vista on the packaging. Thanks for the info.

As with many 3rd party programs, you can exchange routes, tracks, and
waypoints between National Geographic's Topo program and the eTrex Vista or
other GPS receivers. You can not load the maps onto the Vista.

Note: If you have a Vista C, you can not currently use the National
Geographic software with it as they do not yet support the Garmin USB
protocol, which is the only connector on the Vista C.

You can download tracks/waypoints from the Vista to the software. You
can create waypoints in the software and upload them to the Vista.
What you cannot do is upload the maps to the Vista ...

Sounds like it would not be useful to me as I already have the Garmin Topo
maps. I did like the 3D function that is out there.
Garmin has nice products but they really need to put some effort on the
software.
