Uploading Multiple Maps with MapSource

ok - I was sure I had put how I did this 14 months ago out here! but I
can't find it!!
So - in Map Soucre I open all of the different Maps on want on my
rino (Really a 76 with a radio) and then upload it to my rino but
then the only map available idss the base map.
Most of the time I get a cannot communicate with the device error
after about 30 mins. but eve when it does complete succesfully the
only map is the base map.
I then tried putting the SD Card into my laptop and iot crerated
the .img file just fine - but still onlyh the base map shows up!
the .img is 228 mbs so there must be something there! but in the
Setup map and S selct maps only base map!
Soo - how am I messing this up? Any help??

Ok - it mnight be the segment limit? once it hits the roo many
segments it shut down the Rino??
But it has complerted succesfully twice but neith of those .img on the
Rinos had any maps in them or they were nto recognized and the .img
file was 228 mbs??
what a PAIN!

1. have MapSource installed to computer

2. Installing all the Map DATA you want to transfer to GPS or Memory Card

3. Run MapSource

4. Chose the MAP(s) then *selected* whatever region, block of 1 or multiple
maps to around 2400-2500 blocks (I don't remember the exact number)

5. Then tell MapSource to transfer the selected ares/blocks to GPS or Memory
Card.

I actually was doing it right from the start but what threw me was
that on the Garmins none of the uploaded maps are there.
The .img file is there and its size suggest that the maps I selected
are part of the file, but in Map Setup the only map available to use
is the nase map.
I included the free NYS Topo as well as two paid Snowmobile maps -
all of which I was able to upload and view/use on my Garmins last
year.
Maybe updates to the Garmins and/or MapSouce no longer allow non-
Garmin maps?!?!
