I recently checked for a map update. This update is available and is
listed as being compatible for the Streetpilot c340
nüMaps Onetime™ City Navigator® North America NT 2011
Upon reading the fine print it says.....You will have full access to
the entire map; however, some units have limited memory and may
not load the full North America map.
First question: I assume "some units" may mean my units internal
memory may not be big enough for the rather large size of the map.
What size is the c340s internal memory?
Second question: How long will the internal memory take to gather a
new section of the map?
The web site also says.......You will need 7 GB of disk space to run
this update.
My third question is this: If the download is 7mb then the map should
be around the same size. How large of a SD card will the c340 take?
I've searched for these answers but have had no luck. Any help would
be appreciated.

You need 7 GB to run the update. You don't necessarily need 7GB of card

memory int he c340. Hypothetical: update is a 2GB download, 1.5 of which
is compressed map info that expands 3 times (4.5 GB), 0.5 of which is
supporting software to upgrade MapSource, which is another couple of
hundred MB, but your unit doesn't use half the map data (which is stuff
other units use for features that your unit doesn't support). That's
nearly 7GB GB of data needed to load 2GB onto your GPS, all from the
original 2GB download.

It seems that we were audited recently, and the auditors found a certain
'f' word in the comments of a configuration file, and deemed that this
is a 'security risk'.
