I have several versions of MGUSA and 4 versions of CNNA (7,8,9,10) installed
on my laptop. Other than MGUSA 4.01 (I use it for generic detail maps on my
eTrex Venture HC) and CNNA NT 2009 for my "street" GPS (2720) I think I'm
ready to whack the old maps to conserve disk space. I'd think there must be
a graceful uninstallation routine rather than just to whack the folders
containing the source but I can't find any references to uninstalling maps
from the PC. Thoughts?

You should be able to uninstall any of the various map products using the
"Add and Remove Programs" feature of Windows Control Panel. Note that some
map products are listed as "Garmin (map product name)" while others are
listed under "MapSource (map product name)". I have done this on several
occasions.

It's easy: run regedit, navigate to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\MapSource]
and delete the references to each of the maps you want to delete.

It is wise to export the branch before so you don't loose it in case
of errors.

Then delete the files on disk.

Jim,

after updating to the latest version I deleted the previous one via
"Add/remove programs" - no problem.

However, I am not sure if it is wise to delete the first set of maps
that I installed (full version). Perhaps someone else can answer this
question?

Mike

I made the mistake of deleting a map in the program, not realising it
removes it from the disc folder as well! Meant reloading the map CD
again, only did it the once!
