2) Download the mainland U.S. (48-states) or selected area
POIs in CSV format for Garmin
3) Unzip the downloaded file(s)
4) Use Garmin POI Loader to load into Nuvi:
http://www8.garmin.com/software/POILoaderforWindows_254.exe
or
http://www8.garmin.com/software/POILoaderforMac_210.dmg
5) Enable for use in Nuvi via Tools>Settings>Proximity Points
Thanks NA......good info. I wasn't aware of this
I just picked up a 1490T for my summer travels.

One can select their own area of interest--most anywhere in the world.
My custom selected area's set of Trapster POIs include the Ontario and
Quebec provinces, along with the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of
the US. The mainland US (48-states) selections are for quick setup for
US users that don't want to bother customizing their own area of
interests. I don't use that set of POIs because it waste internal Nuvi
memory storing POIs for areas that I don't need. Canada is covered
perfectly for my travel needs. You really should explore the Trapster
website more closely. All instructions for its use are thoroughly
covered there.
