Hi,
This morning I saw that the time on my 3010C was one hour off.
After some more investigation, I found that the current date was
09-Jan-90 instead of 25-Aug-09. Because of this wrong date, the
auto-DST setting leads to wintertime instead of summertime which in
turn causes the time to be one hour off.
Further investigation learns that when I set the GPS to "NMEA" the
date is correct and the time also. Setting it to "Garmin", and
checking system/time learns that the date is 09-Jan-90 and the
time is one hour early again. This reproduces both ways.
Further information:
The GPSMAP 3010C has software version 5.60.
The connected GPS is a GPS17-HVS, software version is 3.10.
For now, I'll set the GPS to NMEA, but with that I loose the WAAS
(EGNOS) correction, so this is only half of a workaround.
I don't know whether above error is due to a software bug in the
3010C or in the GPS17 firmware or in both, but I hope a software
update with fix will be coming out soon.
Regards,
