I have a Garmin Nuvi 300, have found and loaded various POIs, such as
National Trust sites.

Am I supposed to see the said sites on screen as the tracker maps my journey
or am I supposed to see this sites from the 'attraction's option?

Is there any free or paid sites for additional POIs?

Any hints you can give me would be grateful

Lynne

The zoom level required for POI's icons to become visible is quite high -
presumably to avoid cluttering the map - and maybe to reduce overhead in
drawing them.

For UK POI's, try: http://garminfree.com and http://garminpoi.co.uk

for US (and a friendly discussion): http://poi-factory.com

and to see what you can really do with POI's on your Nüvi - see
http://GeePeeEx.googlepages.com (that's my doing :-)

There are. Check this page for free and not free
POI sets.

http://www8.garmin.com/products/poiloader/POISource/

There are likely others out there that Garmin does
not know about.

You can load them with the Garmin POI loader
described here:

http://www8.garmin.com/products/poiloader/

http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-12

both PC version and a beta for Mac OS X.
